“Great things in business are never done by one person. They are done by a team of people.” - Steve Jobs
Emily joined Broughton Laboratories in August 2015 as a Business Support Apprentice. After completing her GCSE’s at South Craven School Emily decided to approach Craven College to apply for an apprenticeship in business administration. Working closely with Craven College, Broughton Laboratories offered Emily the position following a successful interview.
Being committed to the development of our employees, Broughton Laboratories believe investing in the growth of our team members is the future of the Company. During Emily’s time as an apprentice we have seen her grow in confidence and ability; she is now a valuable member of the Broughton Laboratories Quality and Business team.
Following completion of the Business Administration Apprenticeship, Emily was offered a permanent position as Business Support Assistant in August 2016. During her time at Broughton Laboratories Emily has shown a keen interest in accounting and will now continue to learn new skills by onward training through the AAT accounting course, one day per week at Craven College. Emily is as excited to be given the opportunity to work and train, as we are enthusiastic about having such a valued member of the team progress in this way.
Emily quotes, “Before joining Broughton I was low in confidence, however, this has soon changed. The team here have made me feel so welcome. Choosing an apprenticeship at Broughton Laboratories was one of the best choices I’ve made. There are so many opportunities and I am excited to begin my new role of Business Support Assistant.”
We hope that this is a stepping stone in developing Broughton Laboratories’ apprenticeship program. We thrive off the opportunity to help young adults enter the working world, while gaining valuable experience. Just like Emily we feel apprentices can offer a fresh perspective and new ideas which in turn will strengthen our Company for the future.
